Established in 2021 with a single retail rack within East Village’s outdoor and adventure store, Stoked, Goldeneye Curations progressively gained recognition in Des Moines, offering highly sought-after vintage and streetwear. Early in 2022, the proprietor of Stoked acknowledged the escalating demand for Goldeneye Curations’ inventory, leading to an agreement for a standalone store in the basement of the distinguished 518 East Grand building. During its tenure in the basement, Goldeneye secured its initial retail brand, Brigade, based in Brooklyn, New York, becoming the third retailer after Concepts and Boston’s Shop Aigo. This solidified Goldeneye’s position in introducing the most current and coveted streetwear to Des Moines East Village. On February 24th, 2024, Goldeneye Curations concluded operations at the "staircase" basement location, simultaneously announcing the forthcoming opening of its inaugural standalone storefront situated merely a short distance from its original inception point three years prior.
On March 1st, 2024, Goldeneye Curations inaugurated its standalone 313 E 5th Street storefront, promptly securing a retail agreement with the iconic streetwear entity, JNCO. By amplifying its in-store and online presence, Goldeneye Curations continued to expand, garnering millions of views across numerous social media posts, offering exclusive merchandise, hosting meet-and-greets with local band Vended, and organizing pop-up events with various East Village and Des Moines businesses. Goldeneye Curations has thus demonstrated its enduring presence, with a profound focus on its community, acknowledging that its current success is attributable to the unwavering loyalty of its patrons.
